Un roman «perdu» de Françoise Sagan a été publié en France.
Quatre coins du cœur, une histoire inachevée de 200 pages de l'auteur de Bonjour Tristesse - qui a fait sensation avec son portrait de la vie vide des riches oisifs - a été découverte par son fils Denis Westhoff après sa mort en 2004.
Des rumeurs couraient à Paris d’une entrée de choc dans la rentrée littéraire, la semaine frénétique de l’automne au cours de laquelle la plupart des plus gros titres de l’année sont publiés.
Comme son premier roman, écrit par Sagan à 17 ans, la dernière parution est une dissection laconique de la vie de la haute bourgeoisie.
Il est centré sur un triangle amoureux peu commun impliquant Ludovic Cresson, un homme d’affaires qui a fait sa fortune dans la production légumière. Mais, comme Sagan, il a un grave accident de voiture, puis s’emmêle amoureusement avec sa belle-mère.
À l’honneur de la célébrité de Sagan en 1957, elle s’effondra dans son Aston Martin et tomba dans le coma. L’incident n’a pas éteint son amour des voitures et, une fois récupérée, elle se rendrait de Paris à Monte Carlo pour jouer à ses tables de casino.
Le jeune Sagan était un hédoniste bisexuel qui a scandalisé la société parisienne lorsque les premières étincelles de la révolution de la jeunesse ont commencé à voler à la fin des années 50.
Son fils a dit que le roman était typiquement sarcastique et "Saganesque - une aventure incroyable, parfois impudente, avec un ton baroque".
Westhoff, un photographe connu, a déclaré avoir repéré le manuscrit en deux volumes dans un tiroir. Il a qualifié la découverte de "miracle" dans une série de batailles juridiques sur son domaine, dans laquelle il a affirmé que la propriété de Sagan avait été "saisie, vendue, cédée ou acquise de manière douteuse".
Le brouillon avait été tellement lourdement photocopié que les grandes lignes de certaines lettres n'étaient pas claires, a déclaré Westhoff. Dans la préface, il révèle qu’il a apporté le texte au rédacteur en chef de Sagan, qui n’a pas voulu le publier.
Westhoff décida de travailler lui-même sur le livre, en ajoutant des mots manquants et parfois des passages entiers où, selon lui, des corrections semblaient nécessaires, en prenant soin de ne pas changer le style ou le ton du roman. Quatre coins du cœur se termine sur un cliffhanger, le texte de Sagan s’éloignant.

Just a note, this is from a critic POLL, so if you get angry about these choices, they weren't made by any specific critic. And you can't really get angry at critics as a whole, because lists like this don't take into account how much some critics hated the film, only how much others loved it. So keep the anger inside, and let's just discuss like rational human beings.
